Between myself (therapy assistant) and Pete (Neuro Specialist Physiotherapist) we have over 32 years experience working in acute neuro rehab. We can hand on heart say that having a motomed is like having an extra therapist on the ward and we could not do without this vital piece of equipment. Countless patients in our experience have been enabled to re-use the function of their arms and legs again thanks to the MOTOmed.
Often our patients have suffered severe neurological injuries and illnesses resulting in severe disabilities meaning the patient has little independence and control. Often the motomed is the first time patients get some independence and control over their body which has a hugely positive psychological affect. The instant feedback the motomed gives patients increases their motivation and engagement allowing them to optimise their rehabilitation outcomes.
In summary the MOTOmed has time over proven itself to be a vital piece of equipment to significantly improve rehabilitation outcomes for our complex neurological patients in the inpatient setting.
